Kickin’ Buttered Popcorn

Combine the taste of real butter and a Louisiana hot sauce! Sweet and delicious but not too spicy, this is the perfect popcorn!


  • ¾ cup popcorn kernels
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons The Original “Louisiana” Brand Hot Sauce™
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt, to taste


  • 1. Add the butter, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to a small bowl and whisk together.
  • 2. Add the oil and Hot Sauce to a large pot over high heat and let heat for 1 minute. Add the popcorn kernels and swirl around until coated with the oil. Swirl the pan occasionally.
  • 3. When the first kernel pops quickly cover the pot with the lid, slightly ajar to release steam. Continue to shake the pan frequently, within a few minutes the popping will slow down, turn off the heat and let the popcorn finish popping.
  • 4. Slowly pour the butter over the popcorn and using a spoon toss to coat. Salt to taste and serve immediately.
