Cioppino (Italian Fish Stew)

Our Crockery Gourmet Italian Seasoning mix adds flavor to this savory seafood stew.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet Italian Seasoning Mix
  • 2 – 14½ ounce cans whole or diced tomatoes
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1½ to 2 pounds assorted seafood (Suggestion: ½ pound fish fillets pieces, ½ pound shrimp, 1-10 ounce can clams with juice)
  • 1 medium diced onion
  • 1 small jar olives or garlic cloves

Instructions

  • 1. Combine Italian Seasoning Mix packet with 2 – 14½ ounce cans whole or diced tomatoes and 1 ½ cups water in slow cooker (2-6 ounce cans of tomato paste and 4 cups of water may be substituted). Stir until well blended.
  • 2. Add 1 medium diced onion and, if desired, 1 small can olives or garlic cloves.
  • 3. Cover; cook on High heat setting 3 to 4 hours.
  • 4. Add 1½ -2 pounds of assorted seafood (Suggestion: ½ pound fish fillets pieces, ½ pound shrimp, 1-10 ounce can clams with juice) to slow cooker.
  • 5. Reduce heat setting to Low. Cover; cook 30 to 45 minutes longer or until fish flakes easily with fork.
